He played a pivotal role in introducing Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world, especially through his historic speech at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago in 1893, which began with the iconic words, "Sisters and Brothers of America." He strongly believed in the potential of youth and emphasized the importance of self-confidence, service to humanity, and spiritual awakening. Through the Ramakrishna Mission, which he founded, Swami Vivekananda aimed to blend spiritual wisdom with social service.
